Old Riga is interesting and beautiful in mid-March, with nighttime snows and restaurants that are foodie's post-soviet dream. Each evening, a few inches would cover the streets just enough, so that the cobblestone alleys became enchanted winter wonderlands. Wandering the old city with snow falling in my hair and furry boots on my feet, I loved the beauty and history seeping from the streets.
